INVESTIGATIVE INTERVIEWING USING BEHAVIORAL AND STATEMENT ANALYSIS
Since 1998, Law-Tech has been the first, and still the only firm teaching both Behavioral Analysis and Statement Analysis (not handwriting analysis) in one class. Used simultaneously for investigative interviews, new and seasoned officers/investigators will enhance their ability to elicit truthful information, decrease investigative time, and obtain voluntary-court accepted confessions. Forensic Statement Analysis (FSA) is a state-of-the-art tool used to analyze written and oral statements taken from a person of interest. FSA systematically analyzes the use and omission of specific words, phrases, content, grammar, and other identifiers to identify truth and deception. In advanced applications, statements can also be converted into numbers, and subjected to a mathematical formula to determine if it supports that of a truthful statement. This session introduces the student to Forensic Behavioral Analysis (FBA) and Forensic Statement Analysis while offering additional tools that can be employed immediately.
